For carers

What you should know about the cameras

You look after a person in their own home. That deserves respect, and it deserves clear rules. Here is everything that is recorded and everything that is not. This page is also available in Slovak, Romanian and Polish.

This always applies

  • Your room stays free. There is no camera there, ever.
  • Bathroom and bedroom stay free. Including the bedroom of the person you care for.
  • No audio. The microphones are switched off. Conversations are not recorded.
  • Nobody watches live. Not even the family. There is no live image.
  • No face recognition. The system detects that someone is in the room. Not who.
  • Deleted after 72 hours. Everyday recordings disappear on their own.

Where the cameras are

On the ceiling of the hallway, living room and kitchen. They are white and small. There is a sign on the front door. Before the first recording you receive an information sheet with the plan of the flat, in your language.

What sealed means

If something happens in a protected zone, for example at the cabinet or the medicine cupboard, the recording is stored encrypted. Nobody can view it. Only when the family reports a concrete incident, for example that jewellery is missing, is a specific period opened. That is logged, and you are told.

Why this protects you too

When something goes missing in a flat, suspicion often falls on the carer, even when she has done nothing. With sealed recordings it is no longer one word against another. The recording shows what happened. For an honest carer that is protection, not a risk.

Your rights

  • You are informed in writing before the first recording.
  • You can request the access log at any time: who opened which period and when.
  • You are told when a period has been unsealed.
  • You can contact us directly with questions, without going through the family.
